Regeneración is a grassroots coalition of southside Tucson residents advancing community health and prosperity through participatory action research, leadership development, and solidarity-economy initiatives. Building on more than a decade of organizing under its earlier name, Tierra y Libertad, Regeneración has engaged residents in mapping their own assets, identifying development tools, and documenting the occupational and cultural knowledge of the corridor. The organization’s work is intergenerational, multilingual, and rooted in a vision of a community that governs itself.
SFA and Regeneración have worked in partnership since 2017. Together, they bring institutional infrastructure and grassroots leadership into genuine collaboration, as neither organization claims ownership of the prosperity that grows from their shared work.
Additional partnerships in the La Doce project include Artists at Work, the UC Berkeley Disabled Ecologies Lab, Nomad Design Studio, and a network of volunteer architects, preservation specialists, and civic partners who support the project’s planning and technical development.
