Tucson Meet Yourself

October 16 @ 11:00 am October 18 @ 6:00 pm

Founded in 1974 by folklorist Jim Griffith and his wife, Loma Griffith, Tucson Meet Yourself is an annual celebration of the living traditional arts of Southern Arizona’s and Northern Mexico’s diverse ethnic and folk communities. The free, three-day event hosts over 100,000 people every year and features hundreds of artisans, home cooks, dancers, musicians and special exhibits that celebrate and honor beauty in all its diverse, informal, and everyday forms.

Experience live music and dance from over 40 acts on two main stages and the Folklife Here Pavilion. Participate in workshops and learn about common practices across many traditions.

Celebrate traditional cooks and heritage holders, along with legacy cultural organizations, and a few food trucks!

Join us for demonstrations, conversations, and informal performances on how folklife helps us create belonging, identity, and community.

Meet cooks, mixologists, and cultural workers to learn about how food and culture go hand in hand, er, hand to mouth in our Culture Kitchen!

Wander among TMY folk artists sharing traditional and contemporary artforms celebrating culture and continuity and participate in hands-on activities and demos!

Event is free and open to the public. Learn more about special opportunities AND support the festival with our Friends of the Festival membership!

Programming supported in partnership with Southwest Folklife Alliance’s Festivals program. For more information about SFA’s Festivals program and Tucson Meet Yourself please reach out to info@southwestfolklife.org.
